Harvard Law Professor Dr. Simon Greenleaf stated “According to the laws of legal evidence used in courts of law, there is more evidence for the historical fact of the resurrection of Jesus Christ than for just about any other event in history.”
The Reverend Billy Graham, put it like this. “There is more evidence that Jesus rose from the dead than there is that Julius Caesar ever lived or that Alexander the Great died at the age of thirty-three.”
Christ died in order to pay the price of our sin. He overcame death and the grave and now resurrected, He offers us eternal life in Him. The Bible says that those who believe in Him will be saved.
This weekend we remember the sacrifice that He paid for humanity.
Friday, the world judged Him, convicted Him to die and hung Him on a cross.

Saturday, the tomb was shut, the world lay in darkness.

Sunday, the grave, unable to hold Him, Jesus Christ arose!

Kari Jobe in the lyrics of her popular worship song, Forever, tells His story well.
“The moon and stars they wept

The morning sun was dead

The Saviour of the world was fallen

His body on the cross

His blood poured out for us

The weight of every curse upon Him
One final breath He gave

As heaven looked away

The son of God was laid in darkness

A battle in the grave

The war on death was waged

The power of hell forever broken
The ground began to shake

The stone was rolled away

His perfect love could not be overcome

Now death where is your sting?

Our resurrected King

Has rendered you defeated
Forever He is glorified

Forever He is lifted high

Forever He is risen

He is alive, He is alive!”

What a powerful testimony to our Lord Jesus Christ. This weekend may we stand in awe and remember the price that Jesus paid for us.
