God has given us a guide book for life, the Bible. It says that, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Even so, God does not demand that we read it, nor follow its advice.
Within the frame work of life, God has given us the opportunity to “choose who we will serve.” (Joshua 24:24-15) Although God desires for”…all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. (1Tim. 2:4) He gave choice at great personal risk, knowing that many would turn away and choose not to follow him.
God is not forceful. He is not controlling. He does not demand our obedience, love or allegiance. Instead, He graciously gives us a choice and then patiently waits to see what we will decide.
God did not create us to be robots. He gave us freedom to choose and with that freedom, comes freedom to fail. But don’t be discouraged, even in failure we have the opportunity to learn, grow, and draw close to Him.
Instead of being upset with Him, because life is not going as you hoped, why not marvel in the fact that God can use any circumstance or situation to draw us closer to Him.
